Founded from clinical experience
Monotreme Health was founded by a specialist anaesthetist who saw firsthand how pre-admission workflows affect surgical outcomes. Despite advances in clinical care, the administrative processes supporting perioperative preparation remained largely manual, fragmented, and time-consuming.
Pre-admission was selected as the first workflow target because of its direct impact on day-of-surgery readiness, cancellation rates, and the daily workload of nursing and administrative teams. The insight was clear: much of what nurses and administrators spend their time on could be automated, allowing them to focus on the clinical judgement and patient care that only humans can provide.
This clinical perspective drives every product decision at Monotreme Health. We build for the reality of hospital operations, not an idealised version of it.
Our vision
We believe automation can meaningfully improve hospital operations by reducing high-frequency, low-value administrative work. PreopFlow is the first step in a broader platform designed for hospital operational pain points, starting with pre-admission and expanding into adjacent perioperative workflows. Our approach prioritises configurable workflows that can align to local policies and be refined over time as teams provide feedback.
